The dramatic shift in consumer purchasing habit — offline to online — during the pandemic has given rise to increasing volume of goods being moved across borders. Rising digital adoption and rapid internet penetration allow for consumers to buy and sell online from anywhere and everywhere. Therefore, ecommerce is creating new opportunities for the air cargo industry. A Euromonitor estimate suggests that cross-border ecommerce will grow to a $1trillion-2trillion market by 2030. This panel attempts to look for success stories in the cross border ecommerce, how air cargo responds to rapidly changing ecommerce market environment and identify trends that impact air cargo volumes from the e-retail part of the ecommerce — direct to consumer and from business to business segments.
