Huge visitor turnout at air cargo India 2022 amidst the presence of dignitaries, industry leaders, and the global fraternity

With 4,800 visitors, 550 delegates, and 75 participating brands from over 38 countries, air cargo India 2022 was by far among the largest industry gatherings in India in the post-pandemic period. Organized by leading trade fairs management company Messe Muenchen India, air cargo India 2022 was held at Grand Hyatt Hotel, Mumbai, from May 31-2 June. This edition brought together leading airlines, airports, cargo handlers, and many other GSAs and services like IT systems, drone operators, etc.

The show opened with a congratulatory message from Shri Jyotiraditya Scindia, Honorable Minister of Civil Aviation, Government of India, highlighting India’s vision to achieve air cargo capacity of 10 million metric tonne by 2030. Some of the leading dignitaries present at the show were Ms Poonam Mahajan, Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha, from Mumbai North Central Constituency, Maharashtra; Mr Cheong Ming Foong, Consul General of Singapore in Mumbai; Mr Ali Tolga Kaya, Consul General of Turkey in Mumbai; and Ms Marja Einig, Acting Consul General of Germany in Mumbai. air cargo India 2022 was also graced by the presence of Mr Piyush Srivastava, Senior Economic Advisor, Ministry of Civil Aviation, who emphasized the role of air cargo in the country’s economic development and the various collaborations between the government and industry that will yield results in the near future.

The content-focussed conferences, organised in collaboration with STAT Trade Times, brought together the leading shippers and cargo service providers in the country to reflect on the key learnings from the Covid-19 crisis. During the three-day conferences, international experts shared global perspectives on how the industry can come together to further align interests and mitigate emerging risks. With important panel discussions on pharma logistics, the growth of shipping demands from the e-commerce sector, digitalization of cargo operations, use of drone technology, air shipping challenges, capacity crunch, sustainability, and many others, air cargo India 2022 stimulated dynamic conversations among high-quality delegates and leading decision-makers in the industry.

The most-awaited STAT Times Awards Night and Networking Gala Dinner also saw performances by internationally acclaimed illusionist Drummond Money-Coutts and a live band by ONEEMPIRE. Frankfurt Airport emerged as the International Cargo Airport of the Year, while Qatar Airways Cargo bagged the International Cargo Airline of the Year, apart from many other winners across award categories.
